Working All Over the House

I’m writing this in a coffee shop, but I do the vast majority of my work from home. I have a studio, but for the last several months that room has been the handy recipient of every pile of crap we’ve needed to remove from the rest of the house. It’s pretty much uninhabitable at this point.

But even when I do have a functioning room of my own, I still do a regular rotation throughout my house. Often, the dining-room table is my office, and like Nicholas Baker in the post linked to below, I love it especially when the light comes in and brightens the whole universe.

Other frequented home-office locations: the living-room couch and the desk in the room we pretentiously refer to as the library.

Where do you work when you work from home?

i’m thankful i’m not the only one who does this! When I stay within my house, my day rotates between my desktop (which isn’t in my office for complex reasons), the dining table, the sunroom (which chair I get depends on where the cats are napping), my studio, and the living room couch.

Having exhausted the “library” desk and dining table and couch today, I’m about to vacate the house for the library (also to make myself scarce for when my kid returns home with the babysitter). I honestly couldn’t imagine sitting in *one* place all day!
