Nobody.
End of story.
Pass it on.
Over my eighteen-year career in crafts and publishing I've written or co-authored seven books and edited countless others; founded, run and sold an online crochet magazine; served as editor of Interweave Crochet magazine; and spoken and taught at conferences across North America. Eventually I realized that working in craft publishing is my professional dream, with values of sustainability, equity, inclusion and diversity at the centre. In 2020, I co-founded Nine Ten Publications and its flagship online magazine, Digits & Threads. I live in Vancouver, Canada, where I weave, experiment with natural pigments I forage around my neighbourhood, and tweet photos of my family’s ridiculous dog.

Sadly, the “pro-life” crowd has been pretty sucessful in setting up a picture of diametric opposites and framing those who support choice and privacy as “pro-abortion”. Perhaps the pro-choice movement needs to work on reframing “pro-life” as “anti-women”.
If the “pro-life” people would actually take the time to listen to any woman who faced the necessity of deciding to have an abortion they would know the anguish it takes – and continues to take – on the woman and on those who are privy to the decision-making process. HEALTH is always an issue – not an excuse – be it mental health or physical health. And at odd moments throughtout that woman's life she will wonder about that child who almost was.
I wonder how John McCain would react if others viewed his war wounds as fictional health issues that can be used as an excuse not to raise his arms.
All I know is I saw RED when he made that “health” comment last night. And if any woman thinks that because he chose a female running mate he understands or supports women, they deserve to have him decide their fate!!!
i accidentally said “pro-abortion” once and realized how stupid it sounded coming out of my mouth.
A friend is die-hard pro life/conservative. I told her I thought it was insulting that he used the term pro-abortion so freely. She said that she agreed with him and it is in fact murder. I just don't think it's right for men to decide a fate for something that they will never have to deal with in the way that a woman might.
