(Note to Internets – It's true: A couple of friends and I have been
one-upping each other with news-related tear-jerkers. I wasn't aiming to
score with this one, but I'll take it.)
I think it was his invoking the golden rule that got me (though I shed no
tears). It's simple. It always is.
I watched this last night when it aired. Right on Keith.
You totally score on the tearjerker scale, Kim. Last night, I about sobbed watching it live. Now it's making me sobby again. It's just not FAIR and it's not RIGHT and that's all there is to it.
Like Carol, I found his comment on our history of redefining marriage to be the point. I recently saw a blog post somewhere where the author posted photos of our history of bigotry and intolerance. In those photos you could see hate in the eyes of those who supported segregation and the suppression of rights. While the supporters of banning gay marriage usually speak from a position of faith and seldom have that visible hate in their eyes, I just don't see how it's any different in the desire for one group of people to CONTROL the rights of another group of people who are just looking to be treated equally.

Wasting so much time and money on such an issue is evidence of the lack of intelligence and humanity amongs people. Who cares if someone is gay? I don't… Being gay changes something when it comes to moral values, personality and intelligence? No!! So why do we have all this fuss about gay marriage?
