“One small human inside a 3,000-kilo machine suddenly becomes a dangerous force, and there’s a huge amount of responsibility imbued upon them by this technological power.” – Jonathan Tippett quoted in Meet a 3-tonne robotic beast that runs on electricity | Metro.

Vancouver Mini Maker Faire is coming up the first weekend in June, and early-bird tickets are on sale through the end of April!

If you’re in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island or the Fraser Valley, I encourage you to plan to spend at least one entire day, if not the whole weekend, at this event showcasing the ingenuity and creativity of people and groups from all over the area.

If you’re from farther away, I encourage you to make a trip out of it. The Vancouver Mini Maker Faire is one of the largest mini Maker Faires, and early June is a fabulous time to visit the city.

I won’t have a Mighty Ugly booth at the event this year, but I soon hope to have details about offering a Mighty Ugly workshop one of the days, and I also might speak. You’ll be able to find me at some point at the Vancouver Maker Foundation table, too.
